It's a promising piece of software if it would avoid copying guitar pros faults and instead be strong where GP fails. Tux guitar looks very nice but for me, it's not usable for any serious work. it's very unintuitive not to use the mouse to drag-select notes. Selection as it is outlined above makes for very poor and confused workflow. What i'd like to see is two things: first, to select the notes with the mouse, then being able to copy and paste them in any position of the score not the whole measure, just some notes second, it would be useful if, using the mouse, we could 'drag' the bars through the notes, doing some king of 'resize' a measure Īnyway, to my needs, tuxguitar is great as is :D (back in the selection/copy/paste topic) just some ideas:

The difference between check edition and selection, is about with edition you can click on the score, and add notes with the mouse while on "selection mode" if you click on the score, the cursor go to the clicked beat position. Note that "Selection Mode" and "Score Edition Mode" are for mouse "Clicks" (not for drag to select)

I'm just wandering whether it is me not trying hard enough but I think the feature hasn't been implemented yet. I know the function is definitely available under Guitar Pro. It would be very convenient if I could copy and paste.
The function is useful, say if I am writing a score which repeats bar after bar. Even with "Selection Mode" selected from the 'Edit' menu, I am unable to perform that task. It might just be me, but when I am creating a new file to work with, I am having a hard time selecting notes or tabs so that I can copy and paste them. I have a request though for a feature in the program.

First of all, I just want to say thanks to you guys for making such a great program! All in the spirit of Open Source who the hell needs Guitar Pro anyway! :-DĬongratulations on getting to the 1.0 mark as well! (Once the release candidates are out of the way at least!)
